• The siege lasted 44 months, namely 1425 days.

  • The Sarajevo Tunnel, near 800 metres long, about 1,6 metres tall was dug out in 1993. It was the only exit from Sarajevo and the only way to bring food into the city.
  • Approximately 4000 people passed through the tunnel every day and each of them carried almost 50 kgs of food.
  • Out of 80 sacral Islamic culture objects almost all of them were damaged, 8 completely destroyed.
  • Out of 26 monuments of Orthodox, Catholic and Jewish culture in Sarajevo only 3 remained intact.
  • 2 persons were sentenced for sniper activities and shelling in accordance with command responsibility.
  • 2 persons were not legally binding sentenced for terrorising the citizens of Sarajevo with shells and snipers.
